Most dolls have an innocence to them… unless they’re showing up in a horror movie. There’s “Good Guy,” who wasn’t exactly Andy’s best friend. Then we’ve got Annabelle who, in real life, is a Raggedy Ann doll turned evil. The Curse of the Witch’s Doll is a new film in the demonic doll movie scene. Does it live up to the freaky doll expectations? Read on to find out!

The Curse of the Witch’s Doll Synopsis:

Adeline Gray’s attempt to escape bombing in her home town leads her to a derelict, creepy manor in the woods. When Adeline’s young daughter goes missing during a game of hide-and-seek, a series of inexplicable events lead her to believe a haunted doll holds a vengeful soul; the soul of a murdered Witch. As Adeline’s desperate search for her daughter continues, it soon becomes clear; to have any hope of being reunited, she must defeat the curse of The Witch’s Doll.

The film stars Helen Crevel, Michelle Archer and Claire Carreno. The film is written and directed by Lawrence Fowler.

My Thoughts:

I didn’t see the twist in Curse of the Witch’s Doll coming at all. The movie is much more than a scary doll movie. There is some depth in the plot and I really enjoyed it. The acting is solid as well as the story. It definitely had a couple of creepy doll moments as well. Although I wouldn’t say that the movie drags, it does have some slow moments. I believe this is because of the expectation of it being a straight up horror film. It has horror elements, but I’d classify it as more of a gothic movie. Is Curse of the Witch’s Doll worth a watch? Yes! Just know that it is definitely more than just a scary doll movie. Be prepared for a gothic movie with horror elements.

I am not going to spoil this one for you, as better than most to watch at night begore going to bed, but be patient with this film as it gets better as it goes. They do try to bookend a lot of history about this doll overtime. Ending too predictable which makes it a 4 not a 5.

If this was their first film, it was a pretty good start. A "Shutter Island" vs "Annabelle" movie. At times there were too many loose ends, too many times I wondered why something happened to someone and what was the connection? At times I thought I was watching three different movies. I would have liked a little more background on the witch since the movie was about her and there were only about two minutes when she was introduced at the beginning.

Pretty good movie but as always some stupid people that get themselves in unnecessary trouble. Parts the movie are more psychological than paranormal, but linked by the same doll. I can't imagine how a parent would allow a child to play with something so evil looking, but it could just be in the parents mind.

I liked the middle of the movie more than the first third or so, and the last part was the most predictable. I thought it was ok. Still, some things didn't make sense, or felt like more more details would help.

It was a really interesting storyline and good acting as well. There was just something missing; it wasn't very cohesive. It was a bit slow, which I don't mind usually, but there was definitely room for more character and story development. I don't feel like it was a waste of time though...

I thought the acting in this movie was very good. They took the creepy doll thing too far though, the last segment in modern times was a bit much. By that time I was yawning. Overall, the movie was good and worth the watch.

It was enjoyable, descent acting, cool story, with a predictable ending, but I'm nbt one of those turds that don't like a movie just because you have a good idea how it's going to end.

It went on a little to long. It should have ended with the first story line after that it was pointless. Seems like they just needed to fill time.

This is a great indie. It's rough around the edges with a good twist. The young girl for me was the best cast Actor, very mature performance. Overall I think they did a good job with an obvious limited budget. Would watch again

This is a "Blair witch "type film (nowt happens you have to use your imagination and boring), its hard to review without spoilin plot .The actual cursed witch Doll is,nt explained properly? Yes l appreciate she was suppose to be burnt as witch 1660 etc who is she , why she haunting that particular place ,why killing those people etc as said nowt happens. L would,nt call it horror!
