The user profile service service failed the sign-in reddit
this happened after windows reset. my friends pc wont launch the user with this message above (it only has one user so we cant launch the pc at all unless its safe mode). safe mode barely works and he is using task manager to open applications because desktop wont launch and its just a black screen. we tried everything we could think of. reinstalled windows, again. we ran the chkdsk command. we tried creating a new user. lots of tutorials from youtube etc. thing is it seems Default user folder doesnt exist at all in the file explorer. we are thinking to copy it from another pc into this one. need help if you know how to fix this issue So as the title states I have a user that cannot log on to a certain workstation. Anytime they try, this error comes up, yet she can logon to several other workstations just fine with no issues. So far googling has not turned up a solution. I have mostly found articles referencing [this solution] (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/947215) but this has not helped me with this particular issue. We are using mostly win 7 machines in a domain. A few other users have no issues when using the fore mentioned workstation. If any more information is needed please let me know and I will provide it! Thanks for the help! Edit: I should also note that this is a "new" user and has never been able to successfully log in to this particular workstation. Update: Deleting the SQM folder did the trick! Thanks /u/azspeedbullet and everyone else for the help! Don't worry, help is here! Section 1:

Now you want to select the option "Command Prompt," which should open Command Prompt, obviously. Once opened, type in this command, and then press enter (leave out quotation marks): "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" Let it do it's work, and once it is finished, type in "exit" and press enter. 4. Now, click on the back arrow at the top left of the "Advanced Options" menu. It should send you back here: https://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/19921d1485951544-boot-advanced-startup-options-windows-10-a-4-startup_options.png From here, using the option "Reset your PC," reset your PC. It should work smoothly this time. Good luck! r/buildapc 1 Posted by8 months ago I've had this happen twice already. I then reboot in safe mode, then restart once more and everything is back to normal. The whole process takes around 10 mins and is extremely annoying. Do any of you know how I can fix this without a clean install? 4 comments 100% Upvoted
level 1 · 8 mo. ago If SFC and DISM don't do it, you may need to do a clean install. That should be a very rare occurrence. 2 level 2 Op · 8 mo. ago Could you be more specific or point me in the right direction on how to proceed with SFC and DISM? 2 Continue this thread About Communityr/buildapc Planning on building a computer but need some advice?
