Autodesk and the Revit Factory are pleased to announce support for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Revit LT running on Microsoft Windows 11. Support will cover Revit versions 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, including all updates. 

System requirements for these versions have been updated to reflect this announcement:

  • Revit 2022
  • Revit 2021
  • Revit 2020
  • Revit 2019

After thousands of tests, we expect Revit to run on Windows 11 without issue. Should you encounter an issue, report it to our support at www.autodesk.com/contactus and we will investigate, prioritizing any issues that are reported on Windows 11 for these versions of Revit.

Testing on versions of Revit older than 2019 is less extensive to date and it is possible you will encounter unknown or unexpected behaviors.

Released in October of 2021, Windows 11 features a simplified design and user experience to empower your productivity and inspire your creativity,” according to an announcement in June from Chief Product Officer for Windows and Devices, Panos Panay. Billed as the operating system for “hybrid work”, Windows 11 is a preferred choice for IT teams, offering familiar management and configuration experiences and “chip to cloud” security to protect data across devices.

Last week Autodesk announced that Revit 2019 to 2022 supports Windows 11. You can see the announcement here: Autodesk Revit now supports Microsoft Windows 11. The Revit system requirements page is already updated to reflect this.

Is Revit working on Windows 11?

Does it mean Autodesk released an update or hotfix to make Revit supports Windows 11? No. It means Autodesk finished testing all supported Revit versions on Windows 11. And they found no issue with Revit running on Windows 11. Good news for you if you only use Revit on your computer.

However, it seems that Revit is the only Autodesk software that’s already tested for Windows 11. I checked on other products’ system requirements page, none of them seems to mention Windows 11 supports. I checked AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Inventor.

If you use other Autodesk products as well, I would suggest you wait for upgrading to Windows 11.

Is AutoCAD available for Windows 11?

According to this Autodesk article, AutoCAD 2021 and 2022 are fully compatible with Windows 11, provided that all hardware drivers have been upgraded to Windows 11 versions prior to the installation of AutoCAD. If you choose to upgrade, also ensure that peripherals have compatible drivers or software for Windows 11.

Does Autodesk Maya work on Windows 11?

The latest upgrade to Windows 11 fully supports Autodesk Software versions 2021 and 2022.

Why Revit is not working?

Install the latest updates using the Autodesk Desktop App. Update the graphics card driver using the Certified Graphics Hardware page. Try disabling Revit addins. (see How to disable add-ins for Revit).
