2023 Chevrolet Blazer Models

For the new model year, Blazer can be had in four distinct configurations:

  • 2LT
  • 3LT
  • RS
  • Premier

Front-wheel drive is the default drivetrain option, but all models are eligible to be upgraded to all-wheel drive, making the enhanced performance and grip more accessible to those on a tighter budget.

The Blazer RS model takes a sportier approach, and comes standard with a more powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine. You'll also get black exterior accents along with red interior details on the RS model for a dramatic appeal.

And as you'd expect from the name, the Premier model offers the best features of Blazer, including available 21-inch wheels, chrome accents throughout, and a multitude of advanced safety features.

The refreshed styling of the 2023 Blazer features some exciting visuals, especially up front where the entire fascia has been re-designed. A new grille emphasizes the wide stance of Blazer, and flows seamlessly into new LED headlamps and new LED daytime running lamps.

New wheel designs are also available, and come in 18-, 20-, and 21-inch variations. At the rear, new taillamps feature LED elements fashioned in a line-art design that complements the shape of the bumper-integrated exhaust tips.

One of my favorite exterior features is the power-programmable liftgate, which is available on 2LT models and standard on 3LT, RS, and Premier. As a bonus, RS and Premier model owners receive additional convenience benefits with the inclusion of a hands-free function for the liftgate.

In terms of paint colors, a black roof can be added to any non-Black exterior color for a sleek two-tone effect. And new for 2023, three premium paints join the selection of vibrant colors: Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat.

If you want to go for some extra cool points, add the optional illuminated black bowtie emblem along with hood and lower bodyside decals to give your Blazer a personalized look.

Part of what makes the Blazer popular is its smart use of space and driver-centric interior. It can comfortably seat up to five passengers, or transform to accommodate up to 64.2 cubic feet of cargo. The second row offers a 60/40 split folding function, and can also slide forward for more trunk space, or slide back for enhanced rear leg room.

For infotainment, a new 10-inch diagonal center screen is standard on all models, offering intuitive access to music, apps, and smartphone connectivity. And your on-the-go lifestyle continues to get easier for the 2023 model year as wireless smartphone charging is now available on all Blazer models.

The general atmosphere of the Blazer's cabin is loaded with eye-catching details that often make you stop and admire for a second, like contrast stitching and piping on the dashboard, glossy accents, and leather-appointed surfaces on the most common touch points. The 2023 model year also sees the introduction of a mesmerizing Nightshift Blue interior for the Blazer RS model.

Optional interior packages are available to enhance your ownership experience further, adding features like seat memory settings, a premium audio system, and power tilt and telescoping steering column.

2023 Chevrolet Blazer Performance

Is Chevy making a 2023 Blazer?

The lineup for the 2023 Blazer is available with two engine choices. The first is a peppy 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that's standard on the 2LT, 3LT, and Premier models.

The second engine choice is a 3.6-liter V6 that's standard in the RS, and available as an upgrade for the 3LT and Premier. Both engines deliver competitive performance numbers - the 2.0-liter produces 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the larger 3.6-liter dishes out 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

And as I mentioned earlier, every Blazer model can be configured as front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Specifically for the sportier Blazer RS, the all-wheel drive system is upgraded with an advanced twin-clutch element that enhances torque response between the axles.

Regardless of engine type, a 9-speed automatic transmission is standard on all Blazer models, and is accompanied by five manually-selectable Driver Modes to optimize for a variety of scenarios like fuel efficiency, slippery roads, towing, or sport performance. Speaking of towing, the Blazer can haul up to 4,500 pounds when properly equipped with the available Trailering Package.

Fuel economy for the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer (FWD, 2.0L) is an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city / 29 mpg highway. For the 3.6L engine (FWD), EPA estimates are 19 mpg city / 27 mpg highway.

I love this new take on the Blazer, especially because the styling updates perfectly match Chevrolet's current design aesthetic that's found on the new Silverado, Suburban, and Corvette. You can have an on-theme suite of vehicles for family, work, and adventures.
