Apr 20, 2021 Lucy Caise rated it it was amazing A really interesting fiction book, it brought me lots of peace and taught me to be honest to myself, to other people. Deserve to get five stars.
At first, I was impressed by the cover of the book and its title. The cover of the book is like drawing me in my imagination. While the title of the book reminds me that I seem to have had a dream
about books as a child, the dream that when I am old, I will be in a room full of books, wearing glasses with my hand's knitting🧶something.
At first sight, i thought, it was a super-typical romatic story book which i should shut the book down. But then, the book continued drawing my attention. Those life of the story
in book, the Morisaki bookstore, is my dreaming-life. With such great storyline, the book described a peaceful bookstreet that full of interesting-in-real-life-based-way characters. I hope that, one day, i can have a house in such an extremely wonderful street like that. Back to the story, the main character, a young girl, who fall deep down in such bad mood after having broken up with her boy friend. With "sudden" invitation from his uncle, she

Then, by the time she explored the secret realm around the Morisaki bookstore, the Jinbocho bookstreet, step by step, her world view changing without her awarenessm
Nov 29, 2020 Duong Thuy rated it it was amazing I have already read this book in only one night. It
has a light storyline but still has interesting aspects. In the first part of the book, the main character is Takako who tried to hide her frailty in her uncle's bookstore called Morisaki after she found out that his boyfriend had cheated on her. At first, Takako and her uncle did not close to each other, however her uncle always took care of her and one day, he helped her facing her ex-boyfriend -her fearness, her disappoinment. The atmosphere of this book is definitely cozy and the topic it *aims* to deal with is quite interesting and profound. However, the plot is just one major hole. Girl finds out boyfriend is cheating on her and moves to an apartment above her uncle’s book shop, looking to work for him for a while and find balance again. Love that. However, no character growth actually ever happens and the appearance of two new character by the end of the book - her long lost aunt and a guy she may be into? - liter The atmosphere of this book is definitely cozy and the topic it *aims* to deal with is quite interesting and profound. I mean, there is no story. If it wasn’t for the lovely fall bookshop vibes, I would have considered giving it one star. ...more
Aug 09, 2021 Linh rated it it was amazing Going through the book, we can see the journey of characters looking for big dreams in their life - goals and love. Uncle Satoru, Takako, Ms Momoko or all of us - each of us has ups and downs during
the life trip that we can't understand until they voluntarily show them for us.
A simple and delicate story; an unexpectedly beautiful and gracefully written book; a great summer pastime for those who love books, unexpected encounters and for those who
need a break from everyday routine to listen to their souls. I liked the cinematic speed of the narration, the author's ability to delineate the characters' types with just a few strokes of the pen, and to describe the different environments without too many frills but, on the contrary, with an all-Japanese minimalist simplic I liked the cinematic speed of the narration, the author's ability to delineate the characters' types with just a few strokes of the pen, and to describe the different environments without too many frills but, on the contrary, with an all-Japanese minimalist simplicity.
The story is quite short, around 100 pages. And yet, reading this is like a meaningful pause in such a hustling life. As other Japanese fiction books, the book delivers in-deep message about life values through simple stories. Worth reading in rainy days!
Jan 24, 2022 Lily rated it really liked it I haven’t read a story quite light and pleasant like this in a long while. What intrigues me is the cozy and familiar feeling of the story. The feeling of heaviness weighing on your shoulder suddenly disappeared because of something you least expected.
Yeah...can I get the second half of the book...we

This book does not impress me, but it does inform me about the lovely spots in Japan.
Pretty cliche but I love how the story ends with the lessons of the protagonist's auntie. Pretty cliche but I love how the story ends with the lessons of the protagonist's auntie. ...more
