In this post I will be reviewing samples that I received from the Nature Republic Snail Solution skincare line at my local Nature Republic store in Changwon:

I will be sharing my thoughts on each of these products and also sharing the ingredients lists for those who are interested.

Nature Republic Snail Solution Foam Cleanser

Ingredients

My thoughts

I like that this cleanser contains some really great ingredients, but honestly they’re so far down in the ingredients list that the percentage is too low to give their specific benefits and also seeing that this is a cleanser so it is meant to be washed off, how much of these would be left behind on the skin anyway right? – strange as it sounds as the product line is called snail solution, this low percentage includes the snail secretion filtrate. So I’m going to ignore those lovely ingredients and focus this review purely on the product’s cleansing ability, texture and fragrance.

The cleanser has a slight pearlescent look to it and is a little tacky when you first feel it, but once water is added, it lathers really well and feels very smooth and luxurious on the skin. It also cleanses really well too which is great but the downside is that it has an artificial fragrance which smells lovely but can be sensitising for some people – luckily for me on this occasion, I didn’t experience any irritation. I only had one sample of this, so my first impressions are that I was pleasantly surprised, for something that has a potentially irritating ingredient (artificial fragrance), this actually wasn’t bad at all, in fact, it was quite impressive as my face felt thoroughly cleansed and hydrated at the same time.

Nature Republic Snail Solution Skin Booster

My thoughts

This is the toner step, and what I liked about this is that it had a bounce to it so isn’t too watery, and feels super smooth and refreshing on the skin. Again, this has an artificial fragrance, but it wasn’t overpowering and didn’t cause any irritation. So far, this seems to be a decent contender against my all-time fav toner, the Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner which I love so much and the fact that it is unscented gives it definite plus points.

If Nature Republic came out with an unscented and alcohol-free version of this toner, I might love it equally as much as the Klairs one.

My thoughts

I was able to use this essence twice as I received 2 sample packets of it. As expected, the essence has that typical snail tackiness to it and feels very smooth & soft on the skin. The essence has a slight cloudy appearance and has a fragrance that is lighter than the other products. I admit this feels great, but I would love it to be unscented.

I love my COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence more than this one as it contains 96% snail mucin, does not contain artificial fragrance or alcohol denat, is a clear liquid and feels great.

My thoughts

The emulsion is very similar to the essence in terms of appearance and fragrance, but for me, it seems to glide on a tad lighter, this might be because the snail mucin percentage is lower. The deluxe sample bottle that this comes in is quite troublesome though for this consistency as it is quite hard to get out of the bottle, I have to tap it continuously and pretty hard for something to come out which is annoying.

My thoughts

There was enough cream in the sample pot for around 5 uses for me. This cream feels quite thick yet soft, smooth and luxurious on the skin. It has that snail mucin tackiness to it too, and my skin feels really well moisturised. It has a pearlescent appearance and the same fragrance as the rest of the products, which again didn’t cause any irritation.

Overall Impression

So I was able to try the cleanser once, essence twice, cream 5 times until it finished, but I’m still using skin booster and emulsion as the deluxe-sized samples of these last quite a long time.

After using all of these products together, my face feels really smooth, soft and moisturised. It also has a really nice healthy glow which I like to think is the snail mucin doing its magic.

I have been so pleasantly surprised by this whole range and am loving the fact that I didn’t experience any irritation. I would definitely consider using these products again, but still think it would be great if Nature Republic came out with an unscented version, because you just never know with sensitive skin.

I would advise people with sensitive skin to do a patch test first before using any of these products on your face just in case. You can always tell the staff at Nature Republic your concerns and if they have any small samples they are usually happy to give you some to try out before committing to a purchase – but sometimes you might have to buy something else before getting free samples.
