The Last Kingdom, a fictional British historical drama, is based on the The Saxon Stories novels by Bernard Cornwell. The series first premiered on BBC in 2015 and later moved to Netflix for subsequent seasons. It follows a young warrior who watches his father die, then suffers through the death of his adopted family and embarks on an epic journey after his loss.

“The Last Kingdom is a show that takes the most ragged, brutal, and ruthless parts of Game of Thrones and asks, “But what if we could make this more metal?” writes Decider’s Meghan O’Keefe. Read her full recommendation.

Love Is Blind is perhaps the biggest success of Netflix’s recent slew of reality show originals. Love Is Blind views like a dystopian version of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette in which people have to choose who to get engaged to through a series of conversations they have while enclosed in pods.  One conspicuously unaddressed detail? Everyone’s hot. But many, many viewers seem to be able to suspend their disbelief and really believe that love is, indeed, blind.

Netflix’s latest true-crime series dives into four truly horrifying residential stories, from serial squatters to violent killers. Suffice it to say, it can hit a little bit close to home.

Love it or hate it, Shrek is now on Netflix. In our opinion, this is an amazing addition to the streamer’s library — but we understand that folks are against the film. To each their own! The 2001 classic follows a grumpy Ogre and a hilarious donkey as they go on a mission to rescue Fiona, the sleepy princess trapped in a tower with a dragon. Best served with: onions, waffles, cake, etc.
