Shift key stuck on Lenovo laptop

In some cases, replacing the key is necessary. However, in nearly all cases, a stuck key on your IBM ThinkPad can be fixed quickly, easily and for free. All you need to do is follow a few quick steps. Show Advertisement Step 1Place your fingernail on the top left of the stuck key. Grip the key with your fingernail so that your fingernail is just under the key. Video of the Day Step 2Lift the key up in a firm motion with your fingernail. The key should gently come off. Step 3Wipe the area on and around the key with a dry cloth so that any crumbs that are hanging around the surface are removed. Step 4Wipe the key off with the cloth. Make sure that no crumbs are on the top or bottom of the key. Step 5Place the key back into place on the keyboard firmly until you hear a click. Press on the key to test whether it is still stuck.
