2023 Outlander Sport

The current generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport came out in 2011. The subcompact SUV received updated exterior styling in 2020 but has received few changes since then. For the upcoming 2023 model year, we expect the Outlander Sport to arrive with a refresh.

On the outside, we expect the 2023 Outlander Sport to have an updated design for the new model year. With the Outlander Sport sharing a similar design to the Outlander, we believe the 2023 model year will have a design that looks similar to the all-new Outlander. The subcompact SUV could arrive with slimmer daytime running lights, larger headlights toward the bottom of the front fascia, and a revised grille. At the back, the Outlander Sport could receive more angular taillights.

While we expect the upcoming Outlander Sport to have an updated exterior design, things should mostly remain the same on the inside. The current Outlander Sport has a simple interior design with few lines, large controls, and chunky trim pieces. The interior has a dark look, with only available red stitching bringing some color to the cabin. Compared to other options in the segment, Outlander Sport is down on interior space and has below-average materials.

2023 Outlander Sport

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport should have the same tech features as the SUV that’s currently on sale. Currently, a seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, four audio speakers, a USB port, and an HD radio are standard. Available features include an eight-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an extra USB port, satellite radio, and a six-speaker audio system.

Mitsubishi offers the current Outlander Sport with two engines. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is standard and produces 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 168 hp and 167 lb-ft of torque is optional. Both engines come with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional.

The current Outlander Sport is available with a lot of current safety features. Standard equipment includes pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and automatic high-beam assist. Available features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The 2023 Outlander Sport should be available with the same safety features.
