The 2023 Mazda CX-70 will likely hit roads in late 2022 or early 2023. It will be available to buy at Mazda dealerships throughout the United States, as well as in select international markets.

How much do we expect the 2023 Mazda CX-70 to cost?

Mazda didn’t yet provide the price and trims information for the 2023 CX-70. However, Car and Driver estimates that the 2023 CX-70 will have a starting MSRP of $38,000. The publication also stated the CX-70 will probably follow the trim lineup of other Mazda models, with the following estimated starting prices:

  • Base: $38,000
  • Select: $40,000
  • Preferred: $42,000
  • Premium: $44,000
  • Premium Plus: $46,000
  • Signature: $50,000

On the performance front, the 2023 Mazda CX-70 will likely offer two hybrid engine options. The first option is an inline-six gasoline engine with a 48-volt hybrid system, which generates 300 hp. The second option is a plug-in-hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-liter inline-four engine. It produces 323 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, with the ability to drive on electric-only power for up to an estimated 39 miles.

The CX-70 features an all-new platform that has a longitudinal engine layout. Advantages of this layout include better performance, handling, and refinement — similar to what one might find in a luxury SUV from Mercedes or BMW, not a typical mainstream SUV model. Also, while the new platform could be configured for either a rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive system, the CX-70 will likely come standard with all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Mazda CX-70 will likely look very similar to the European-market CX-60 that’s pictured in the photos in this post. However, the CX-70 will probably have a wider body than the CX-60.

For the cabin, the CX-70 will have two rows of seating with the ability to seat five passengers. If the CX-60 is any indication, the cabin of the CX-70 will offer a more luxurious cabin compared to other models in the segment, with the availability of premium materials like wood trim and woven textiles. Like other Mazda models, the CX-70 will probably have a 10.3-inch infotainment screen. It will also likely come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

As detailed earlier, the release date of the all-new 2023 Mazda CX-70 SUV will likely be in late 2022 or early 2023. Also, the estimated starting price of the 2023 CX-70 is $38,000, but we’ll have to wait until Mazda provides the official trim pricing information.
