Giống nhau trong tiếng anh là gì

Ví dụ: My father is very humorous. I am, too. My neighbors often say like father, like son (Bố tôi rất hài hước. Tôi cũng vậy. Hàng xóm thường nói 'con nhà tông không giống lông thì giống cánh').

- Like father, like son. She is also short like her father. (Cha nào con nấy. Con bé ấy cũng thấp như bố).

2. Like two peas in the same pod: Giống nhau như hai giọt nước

Ví dụ: Oh my god! You like two peas in the same pod (Ôi trời! Hai đứa giống nhau như hai giọt nước).

I can’t tell you apart because you like two peas in the same pod (Tôi không thể phân biệt được. Các bạn giống nhau như hai giọt nước).

3. To follow in someone’s footsteps: Cha truyền con nối

Ví dụ: She finally decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps is to become a teacher (Cuối cùng cô ấy cũng quyết định theo nghề cha truyền con nối là trở thành giáo viên giống mẹ).

- Being a lawyer is to follow in his family’s footsteps (Trở thành luật sư là nghề cha truyền con nối của gia đình anh ta).

4. To be a chip off the old block: Giống nhau như đúc

Ví dụ: The way she is walking like her mother’s. They are a chip off the old block (Cái cách cô ấy đi giống mẹ cô ấy. Họ giống nhau như đúc).

Her smile is so beautiful. It is a chip off the old block with her mother’s (Nụ cười của cô ấy thật đẹp. Nó giống nụ cười của mẹ cô ấy như đúc).

5. To take after someone: Giống hệt nhau

Ví dụ: The boy takes after his father (Thằng bé giống hệt bố).

Oh! You take after your mother (Ôi! Cháu giống hệt mẹ).

6. A spitting image of one’s mother/father: Bản sao của cha/mẹ

Ví dụ: They both have fair skill. They are spitting images of their mother (Cả hai đứa đều có nước da trắng hồng. Chúng là bản sao của người mẹ).

My son is a spitting image of his father (Con trai tôi là bản sao của bố nó).

7. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: Giỏ nhà ai quai nhà nấy

Ví dụ: The boy often loses his temple. His father does, too. It is really the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree (Thắng bé thường mất bình tĩnh. Bố nó cũng thế. Đúng là giỏ nhà ai quai nhà nấy).

The girl has beautiful voice like her mother. That is the apple doesn't fall far from the tree (Cô gái có giọng nói hay như mẹ cô cô ấy. Thật là giỏ nhà ai quai nhà nấy).

He liked working with horses, as his father did. (Anh ấy thích làm việc với những chú ngựa, cũng như cha anh ấy vậy.)

Your sister looks just like you. (Em gái cậu trông giống cậu thật đấy.)
She likes music, and so do I. (Cô ấy yêu thích âm nhạc, và tớ cũng thế.)
The papers were late and the post was too. (Báo bị giao trễ và thư từ cũng vậy.)
His eyes are just the same colour as mine. (Mắt anh ta cùng màu với mắt tớ.)

2. So sánh ngang bằng
Khi muốn nói những người/vật ngang bằng nhau về mặt nào đó, chúng ta thường sử dụng cấu trúc as ... as.... Ví dụ:

My hands were as cold as ice. (Tay tớ lạnh như đá vậy.)

I earn as much money as you. (Tớ kiếm được nhiều tiền như cậu.)

3. So sánh hơn và so sánh hơn nhất Khi muốn nói những người/vật không ngang bằng nhau về mặt nào đó, chúng ta có thể sử dụng tính từ hoặc trạng từ ở dạng so sánh hơn. Ví dụ:

He's much older than her. (Anh ấy lớn tuổi hơn cô ấy rất nhiều.)

The baby's more attractive than you. (Đứa bé đó đáng yêu hơn cậu.)

Để nói những người/vật nào đó nổi trội hơn hẳn so với những người/vật khác, chúng ta có thể sử dụng tính từ hoặc trạng từ ở dạng so sánh hơn nhất. Ví dụ:

You're the laziest and most annoying person in the whole office. (Cậu là người lười biếng và phiền phức nhất trong cả cái văn phòng này.)

4. So sánh kém
Chúng ta có thể diễn tả sự không ngang bằng nhau bằng cách tập trung nói về bên thấp/kém hơn, khi đó ta dùng less (than) hoặc least. Ví dụ:

The baby's less ugly than you. (Đứa bé đó đỡ xấu hơn cậu.)

I want to spend the least possible time working. (Tớ muốn dành ít thời gian làm việc nhất có thể.)
Trong giao tiếp thân mật, ta thường dùng not so... as... hoặc not as.... as... Ví dụ:

The baby's not so/as ugly as you. (Đứa bé đâu có xấu như cậu.)

I. Lý thuyết cấu trúc câu so sánh với as ... as the same as different from

1. So sánh sự giống nhau: "as... as", "the same as" (giống như)

- Cấu trúc câu so sánh ngang bằng được dùng để so sánh 2 người, vật,... có tính chất gì đó tương đương nhau.

Cấu trúc

S + to be + as + adj + as + noun/ pronoun/ clause.

S + V + the same + noun + as + noun/pronoun.

Ghi chú

S: chủ ngữ, adj: tính từ, noun: danh từ, pronoun: đại từ, clause: mệnh đề.

Ví dụ

Folk music is as melodic as pop music. (Nhạc dân gian thì du dương như là nhạc pop.)

My painting is as expensive as hers. (Bức họa của tôi thì đắt bằng bức họa của cô ây.)

This camera is as good as it was before. (Cái máy ảnh này vẫn tốt như ngày nào.)

She is the same height as me.

(Cô ấy có chiều cao như tôi.)

She has the same book as me.

(Cô ấy có cuốn sách giống tôi.)

2. So sánh sự khác nhau: "not as...as" (không... bằng), "different from" (khác)

- Cấu trúc câu so sánh không ngang bằng được dùng để so sánh 2 người, vật,... khác nhau ở một mặt nào đó.

Cấu trúc

S + to be + not + so/as + adj + as + noun/ pronoun/ clause.

S + to be + different from + noun/ pronoun.

Ví dụ

Black and white movies are not as interesting as colour movies. (Những bộ phim đen trắng thì không hấp dẫn bằng những phim màu.)

My hometown is not as noisy as yours. (Quê tôi không ồn ào như quê bạn.)

She is not as famous as she was before. (Cô ấy không còn nổi tiếng như trước nữa.)

Life in the city is different from life in the countryside. (Cuộc sống trong thành phố khác cuộc sống ở vùng quê.)

His house is different from my house. (Ngôi nhà của anh ấy khác ngôi nhà của tôi.)

Lưu ý

Ở cấu trúc "not as...as", ta có thể thay thế "as" đầu tiên bằng "so".
