You can share your listening activity with your friends both from the Desktop and mobile versions of the Spotify application.

I personally like to share my listening activity with my friends because I pick a lot of songs from my friends activities. Most of the time, all my friends listen to new songs or songs that are doing well on the leaderboard. So if I miss out on something because of my friends, I can just hop right it. And I want to do the same for my friends as well. Many of my friends have the same taste for music. If they dont have anything specific set on their minds, they just hear whatever I hear. And we can do that because of listening activity.

There are two ways you can turn on your listening activity. Now that we know all about it lets get into troubleshooting.

Here are the steps to share listening activity:

1. Turning it on from Desktop

It is quite easy to share your listening activity from the Desktop. You just have to toggle a setting from the preference section of the Spotify app.

If you turn off your listening activity, people cannot see what songs or podcasts you stream on Spotify.

You might be asking this question because you dont want people to see your listing activity. Or whatever podcast you are listening to. Or the Playlist you have saved.

1. Turn Off The Listening Activity

Turning off the listening activity will stop your profile from popping up on the peoples activity list.

2. Start Private Session

This is an incognito mode. Whatever you listen to in your Spotify app, people cannot see that.

Here are the steps to turn on private sessions on Spotify:

1. Turn on Spotify.
2. Go to Preferences from the edit.
3. Navigate to social.
4. Turn on start a private session to listen anonymously.

The session will end when you close down the application. But up until that, you can listen to songs without the fear of being judged.

3. Make Playlist Secret

You can hide your activity by making the playlist private or secret.
